Access to temporary telehealth services extended

The Australian Government has extended temporary COVID-19 telehealth arrangements to 31 March 2021

On 18 September 2020, the Prime Minister announced the Government will extend a range of COVID-19 health measures for a further six months, to 31 March 2021.

In line with this announcement, the Department of Veterans’ Affairs has also extended its temporary COVID-19 health arrangements to 31 March 2021. This includes continued access to telehealth services for medical, community nursing and most allied health services.

This extension in telehealth services will allow healthcare providers to continue providing essential services to people in their own homes and will support whole of Government policies to reduce the risk of exposure and the spread of COVID-19.
