Eyes in the sky for Exercise Vigilant Scimitar

The Royal Australian Air Force’s No. 44 Wing deployed a mobile air operations team, including a transportable air operations tower, to provide safe integration of military and civil flying operations during Exercise Vigilant Scimitar 2022.

Standing up a transportable air operations tower (TAOT) at RAAF Base Scherger represented a significant milestone for air operations, as units under No. 44 Wing control delivered a new level of bare base capability during Exercise Talisman Sabre (TS21).

Change of command for No. 44 Wing

Personnel and colleagues marked the change of command of No. 44 Wing at RAAF Base Williamtown on September 25. 
 
Held in the Merauke Auditorium, Group Captain Ruth Elsley handed over command to the incoming Commanding Officer Group Captain Robert Graham.
